Radial Engined Lavochkins of WW2
Radial Engined Lavochkins of WW2
Erik Pilawskii and Chris Banyai-Riepl

Greetings All,
I would like to announce a new CD ROM series on aircraft of the Soviet VVS (Air Forces) of the WW2 era. The series is a comprehensive re-examination of all of the known published photographs-- and including also some new unseen material-- of such aviation subjects in colour profile.
The first CD in this line covers the Lavochkin radial engined family, the La-5, La-5F, La-5FN and La-7. There are more than 100 full-colour profiles on the CD, representing our analysis of every example shown in the current photographic record. Each profile was completed after extended review, taking into consideration all of the new research available on this topic, and casting aside all preconceived ideas on the appearance of these fighters. The result, we believe, is the most comprehensive and accurate depiction of each aircraft yet seen anywhere. I can also say that a number of surprising results were thrown up in this re-examination, and some long held ideas put aside.
The CD contains also some documentary and reference material for the reader, along with discussion on the current colouration research on Lavochkin aircraft of the GPW era. There are appendices covering topics like VVS insignia, and such like. We believe that this collection will be invaluable for flight sim skinners, and other aviation enthusiasts.
Navigation on the CD is in HTML format and is viewed through your web browser. The menus and search options have been designed for easy location and reference. Each profile is roughly full-screen width when viewed at 1024x768 resolution, and they contain some very exacting detail. Here is a small example, just for tasting purposes.
More details about the CD series and ordering information can be found at this location:

Thanks, and happy skinning everyone. Erik P.
