Did any of you see the lunar eclipse?
I had nice clear skies and got to see the moon showing shadow coverage of I'd guess 80% and watched it fully uncover through my telescope. Really great stuff, this was the first lunar eclipse I'd payed any real attention to. I was quite surprised how cleanly defined and rounded the shadow of the Earth was.
I managed a few photos, this is probably the best. It was taken through the 8x40mm finder mounted on top of my main telescope.
In this photo, you see the shadow from the Earth moving off the upper section of the moon. That shadow is cast from the opposite side of the planet from where I am.

Yeah, I saw it. I didn't realise there was going to be an eclipse. I just looked up and saw a partially covered moon. I guess it was about 6/8ths covered when I saw it so not sure if was total at any stage though.

Im in Hooterville Nevada out west in the USA, the only thing I saw was two legged cattle in need of a cow bell around their necks so you knew they were coming.
I would have rather seen a Lunar eclipse

I was all fired up to see it, but clouds rolled in at 5:45 and stuck around until 8:00.

Re: Did any of you see the lunar eclipse?
Aw, sorry to hear that Ronnco. I was lucky to be under pretty clear skies during the time the eclipse was visible, but just the night before I was worried because it was solid clouds.
Same thing got me during the new comet which appeared in the last couple months of 2006 in the skies above the setting sun. I missed every avaliable viewing evening due to clouds! That was rather annoying! In fact almost the entire winter my telescope sat unused due to clouds. I'm looking forward to getting back to observing some now that things are clearer again.
And HH, yes I believe that it was a total eclipse depending on your viewing position. Where I am, I was watching the horizon for the first sign of the moonrise, and when it appeared it was about 80% covered when right on the horizon, so I missed the totality.
Next February should give a nice evening sky full eclipse for North America though.
