I dunno Gents, I've put the T-34 back in its box for now. I've found most problems solve themselves in time, so I will hold back making any prints for now.
Interesting comments on this subject. From my own dealings with 3D renderings and as a photographer, there are a couple of points which I've put to blame for these kinds of shading difficulties.
First, when a profile is made to look very realistic it will include some kinds of 'photo' like effects added to the artwork. However, it still falls flat due to the fact that a real photo will have an overall scene lighting context which our minds can refer to while trying to establish the shapes in the image. A profile completely lacks any lighting context cues which our minds can use to build up the shapes based on shading alone, without perspective. Trying to construct this kind of overall scene lighting information... BY HAND... that is a task which I think Norman Rockwell seemed to handle well. Not me.
This same thing can happen in 3D renders. When an object is rendered in white on a white backdrop, the shaping is often NOT very well revealed at all, especially with simple geometric constructions. In a worst case scenario, the render will contain only lighter and darker shades of gray, in completely flat expanses having no gradient value to help us determine the shapes.
Yes indeed! I think this might be one of those important lessons, something that is important to be mindful of while working, but not unnecessarily something that can be solved in any definitive way
Yout T-34 is beautiful work no matter what outcome the "slope" discussion has!![]()
FAST AND BULBOUS!
No slopes there except for the skirts
You’re not going to do the earlier commanders cupola?
How about this, started for a TW Tiger model-
Maybe I need to do some armor profiles and get off the Zero kick?![]()

I can't seem to find good pictures online but there are extra holes in the hub, I think 2 but maybe 4?
Here's all I could find online. I'll see if I can find better pictures here.
