The plane lost power on a skip bombing training mission in 1943. All crew were rescued.

That is great condition, considering how long it was under. Just look at how much paint is still on it. Look forward to seeing it on the airshow circit in about 10 years. You know they'll fix it up.

Ouch, bent up the airframe pretty good eh? Looks pretty good overall though, and would that paint be considered... vintage???

Paint holds quite good under (fresh) water.
In the muddy Dutch grounds some aircraft get in the ground below water level. They are pretty wel conserved. Paint looking brand new (equal like on a new car). Only problem is that it starts to rot and paint starts to peel off the minute the wreckage is raised. So, the actions taken afterraising it are quite important.
