Re: Jumping onto the Fast Mover Bandwagon

I should have had a go at the fast movers a long time ago, as this one just seems to be flying of the tablet (get it, oh im hilarious) jets seem to be quite simple, compared to other types I have attempted in the past, maybe my proficiency is just on the rise.

As for the stencils they are 100% correct as I took a notepad and a pencil along to the RAAF Museum, and noted each and every one as marked on their exhibit. Or maybe I got it from the same place that is mentioned in the 109 E thread. I have looked high and low for this type of resource, and with a bit of refinement of my Google inquires this is what I found. Obviously not the only one here to do so.

Anyway just to contradict myself about working left to right here is an update on the phantom.

    GFR,

Great WIP! I'm posting some photos in the Gallery to give you some details of the unique inverted camber and leading-edge slat on the horizontal tail. If I can figure out how to post more, and Serval doesn't kill me in the process, I'll try to give you some more details. Does you airplane have wing slats?

    Keep up the terrific work

Oh Wow! That's looking great, GFR, that metalwork is just coming alive! Be careful with the Point Cook Phantom, you know it wasn't one of ours? Apparently we didn't have the slatted wing and that one does. Sorry if I am preaching to the converted.

Re: Jumping onto the Fast Mover Bandwagon

Had a rare bit of weekend spare time and I reworked the tail some, with thanks to Vacajun's photos, as well as a couple of other images that I sourced from elsewhere. I thought I would post a quick update. Its still a bit of a guesstimate but is looking ok I think.

Next in my idiosyncratic way, is the wings and tanks, and then...

Jeebus Supah! I am having trouble enough keeping my typically short attention span focused on finishing this, and not moving on to something else. without worrying about other schemes. When I do get around to finishing this phantom It shoudnt be much of a problem to do others tho. I don't think I'll do a pink one with the name of my daughter on the side tho.

Oh yeah. I wasn't entirely happy with the outcome of the exhaust nozzle, so I redid it last night. I will post an updated version later when I get home.

Supah has this thing about the 'toom. mind you i'm the same with the 'Bucc after the aussie one try some different 'Tooms, perhaps Greek 337th Mira (ok another fascination of mine - the HAF) but i'd have to say on images so far she's one nice beastie.
