Its looking good so far.
WIP for a dear friend whose son flies Big Uglies in the 'Stans.
Comments and guidance really welcome![]()
IMHO, you've made quite a bit of progress there, Joe!
My only comment would be around the fin: I think you should tone down the shading on the leading edge and top, and even more so on the trailing edge (which isn't rounded at all).
Aside from that, it's a really great profile! Will you be doing other ones?
Wow i like that. always did like the C-17 Globemaster III. has a nice shape and whats more, talk about STOL![]()
Many, many thanks to all! Getting a thumbs up from the experts means a lot. GM, good catch on the tail shading
I'd just like to tell all the newbies and lurkers out there that the members of this site are IMHO some of the most outstanding profilers in the world. But even better, they are willing to share their suggestions and thoughts with everyone to make your profiling efforts more rewarding and FUN.
I used to jump into profile art emphasizing markings and color schemes, then using shadows and highlights as an afterthought. These guys have made me appreciate that shape rendering and lighting are the most important part of profile art. Wish I had their talent.
Keep those profiles coming!![]()
its simple to make a 2d profile but the shading and highlighting give it more depth and whats more shape, so far this week i've been teaching a few friends of mine how to profile what more they say its addictive, and i've a feeling they'll keep it up. i'd agree, though i'm no expert in comparison with some of the others. everyone here is always helpful to comment and constructively criticise (hope i spelt it right), it helps when other people can suggest what needs working on, that way on your next profile you remember what they said and take it into account.
Nice work Joe!![]()
And BTW, you ARE one of us that are "some of the most outstanding profilers in the world."![]()
