OH NO What if the drawings I send were wrong too? Not that likely but I'd hate to see you throw that one out :P I do have another set from a Polish book you could reference. And the Squadron drawings too. Do you want those?
BH, I work mostly from photos so it doesn't matter if the line drawings were wrong or not. I'll find out soon enough as I go over the skin inch by inch using actual photos as reference. I don't trust drawings. A lot of artists get sloppy or lazy, but quite often they'll pick up on details I don't have. It takes many photos and drawings before I'll post what I have. People like you add to the storehouse of info I have and help me do an accurate job. As long as something puzzles me....something I can't make sense of I'll keep asking questions. People like you will selflessly rise to the call and share the knowledge you have.

Actually I've seen so many ammo door pull hatches now I kinda gave up. I'll just stick it where it makes the most sense and let it go at that. Zamex, your photo does not indicate screws or bolts, but that's OK. I have enough info now to determine that they were indeed screws. Add to that the fact that our Luftwaffe chums used screws on both the 190 and the 109 and that kinda clinches it. Once you get into a rut(especially the same manufacturer) they tend to stick with it. Now to figure out the Zu fasteners which appear to be very different.
Here is my progress so far....about 15% of the actual size and a long way to go yet. It should be duly noted here that such drawings are not possible without the collective information of members here who eagerly leap into a project that isn't theirs. They won't make one nickle off it. You know who you are guys. It is only by pooling our resources that a true picture begins to emerge. This era in now 55 years past. The First World War is 100 years past. It is only by freely sharing the information you have that makes the recreation of history possible, and I am very fortunate to have had eager help from the members here. Otherwise, it all sinks into obscurity.

One thing I know is that, as much as I'd like to, I'm not one of these helpful people. Not that I don't want to, but I haven't got that much to share.
But I agree with you, Otters: more should be shared by all. The editor in chief of the French magazine "Le Fana de l'Aviation" was telling me that their number one problem now was getting access to pictures. Everyone asks for money for them.
And another person, who collects French AF pictures, says that he very often hears of families that get hold of such pictures when a ex-service member dies, and they just trash the whole set. So much is being lost.
At one point, I was considering trying to create a website similar to airliners.net, but with pictures that would be free to use, download or publish for everyone. Most WW1 pictures are out of copyright, and lots of WW2 pictures are too. However, such a site would be more than I can handle myself, as my programming skills are very limited.
It's an admirable thought though Gaetan. I don't know if we can do much about families that bin entire photo collections when their family member passes on. It's a foolish thing to do to say the least. Decades of history in the trash...how very sad. As for those who know what they have and want to profit from it, I can't say it's wrong but moraly I find it totally reprehensible. It simply adds to the confusion by denying the information to others. Perhaps someone out there will pick up on your very good idea and run with it.
