    metal finish-the eternal quest

    Comrades,

    Giant flying robots' recent P-51 metal finish is superlative, I am sure we all agree. I also have tried to obtain the perfect metal finish, but alas I am not there yet. Another method of finessing the metal is to heavily feather a selection of the final metal layer (say sphere or eclipse), and then lighten or darken it, with a subtle color difference. That is what I did with this 35th FG P-47 'bubble top', named Pitter Pat, and which served in the Philippines in March 1945,
