Hello mates !
Long time since I posted last, congrats to all virtual painters, really great stuff there for months !
I've been very busy, also I was working on profiles for a coming publication. As I was drawing B-17s, I finally decided to share this famous 'Little Miss Mischief'.
Final display coming soon !
Best Regards,
Macwan.

Excellent work!
Isn't the ball turret to small though? Might just be me
Looks great, I look forward to the finished piece. Care to post some detail screens?
Thanks mates !
I'll look at the ball turret size more precisely, thanks a lot !
Also details in my next reply, with probably an edited profile.
To be continued (very soon) !
Best Regards,
Macwan.
I compared my drawn Sperry turret with photographs and blueprints, apparently its scale is right. Maybe its bare metal colour plus cut sides are unusual close to an olive/grey scheme... dunno more
Well, some pixel 1 scaled pics :
Formerly it has to be printed on A4 paper format maximum, so it's not heavily detailled (especially interior).
Best regards,
Macwan.
The ball looks about right to me. It might be something of an optical illusion caused by the prominent wing root fillet.
If I had one critique, I'd say that the corners of the chin turret look a little too sharp. I've seen them like this in a lot of drawings, but if you look at any decent photo taken from the side, you'll see that they are actually pretty rounded.

Thanks !
Yes I noticed very minor differences for this turret shape. I based my profile on photographs, mostly from the B-17 book by Flypast.
For instance, page 66 of that book there's a really good profile view where you can see the turret breakin'angle shape (B-17 Texas Raiders)...
...whereas, on page 70, B-17 SallyB's turret is quite rounded as you drawn it !
I can't explain more about these differences, I finally drew the first model....
Macwan.
IMHO, get rid of those outer lines...there should be none border!and play with shadows on the outer edges more to make it more contrast instead of using line...
else very nice piece of work![]()
