    Japanese J1N1 Gekko

    Hello everybody,

    here is a Nakajima J1N1 night-fighter serving with 302nd Kokutai based in Japan towards end of war. Its hard to profile black aircraft . . .

    Looks good.

    Easy solution: don't use so dark a base colour. Most operational aircraft finished in black didn't *stay* black for all that long, or it wasn't ultra-dark black to begin with.

    Law of denial #1: pure white doesn't exist, and neither does pure black.

    Plus we profilers have the added difficulty of painting on a white background. (Which isn't a problem for black airplanes, mind you).

    I'd forgotten the Japanese also had "Shrage Musik" -style gun installations.

    Its good to see that you have eased-up on the gradients when you shade your canopies. It improves the the look of your profiles considerably.
