Differnce between Visitor message and Private messages

Since a couple of months we do have Visitor messages on the Profile pages of everyone.
Every member of the site can post a message there. But be aware everyone can read those messages!
See them as comments you can make to that user.

If you want to tell or ask someone something in private, click on the Contact Info page of the profile of that person. There you have the option to send him a private message.

The user will get a notification at the top right of the page, but for Private messages people can set to receive an E-mail or to get a pop-up to warn them about private messages. So they will not overlook it.
