    New Guinea Tony

    We don't know everything about their markings, but this is pretty close. Each New Guinea Ki-61 had a unique camouflage pattern applied by its ground crew, using an airbrush, paintbrush or sometimes both. Tried to replicate the weathering on such a pattern in the tropics. Note that the hinomaru was masked and not a white border. The blue tail insignia denotes a Headquarters ship assigned to the 68th Sentai at Boram (Wewak).

    Yes, very nice.

    I agree with santynus, it could use a little more shadowing, especially under the nose.
