Feast Your Eyes on a panel !

    Heeeelo everyone,

Doing an article on the Ki-61 in New Guinea and drummed up the primary instrument panel (who wouldn?t get bored waiting for Grubby?s Stang?). Used photos of real instruments to render this little number. Cockpit was metric. Notice altimeter starts at the '6 'oclock' and not 12 . . . and really, that clock in the middle was built by Seiko. Not many tricks needed for this - just time - but will look good in the article. Anyone else out there doing something similar ?

i looked into doing one ages ago, the Eurofighters cockpit, in fact, you've just inspired me to restart that project.

Looks good, is it for Flightpath? As the last issue was chock full of you profiles.

    GFR,

Yairs, it is for Flightpath. You will have seen in the last edition that they published most in B&W, and the other profiles were too small !!!

Was a shame about that, but its still great exposure for your hard work!

    Always Interesting reading either way.

    Nice work Mclaring

Those IJ instruments were the first ones I did, they look a little shaky now

This might come in handy, it's a different panel layout than yours but there's some nice detail anyway

Very nice! I've been tempted to do some of these for some time myself.

That's georgeous, MC. Those reflections on the glass faces are just right.

I had a job for a while illustrating flying training manuals. Back then we had paper cutouts of the instruments that we would manipulate to depict the desired instrument readings and then photograph them! How much easier it would have been in Photoshop.
