New Britain RAAF Hudson

Dear Profilers,

This Hudson shot down over New Britain in Feb 1942 by Japanese A5Ms. Door had a bulbous interior. Don't normally do RAAF stuff - this has been a learning curve pour moi, esp getting colours right . . .

Minor tweaks: Shadow on nacelle for prop blade, and IMHO how about deleting the antenna and fairing shadows on the upper fuselage which shows a back-lit profile? Otherwise your tail shading will be wrong and you'll need to add the shadow for frames for the turret.

Looking good, M. Great subject and good colours. Vacajun is right about your shadows, you have conflicting light source information going on. Watch your highlights under the wing and nacelle too, you have drawn them as strong as the highlights on the top of the fuselage. If you knock them riiiiiiight back, you'll still get the feeling of form, but give more of a sense of that area being in shadow. You might shift your nose highlight up a bit too, I don't know much about Hudsons but from memory these planes have a very slab-sided nose. Always good to see Australian subject matter!

good points fellas. removed shadows, made underneath darker and even added oil stains and steps . . . that's as far as it goes !
