How do I repaint Default skins ?

    Hi all,

I want to repaint some of the default skins in IL2. I understand how to do a repaint of a skin, once I can actually find the original skin file. In the case of the default skins in IL2 - where are they to be found ? - I can only see a 'void' in most aircraft folders.

They are included within IL-2 itself, so you cannot change them.
Best alternative is to load your own or favorite skins

Not necessarily ... when I did the defaults for the I-16, Il-2 and the Mig-3's (shameless plug ) I seem to remember extracting the .tga files of the defaults somehow ... so you could paint them and drop them in the folder, but they wont be defaults. IL-2 will remember what skin you used for that a/c last time though ...

Default skins can be changed but it requires some study
