C47 Bad (Mag)gie - roll out the band !

Heey comrades,

soooo, whatdya reckon ? Anyone say cheat? the prop and tailwheel copied from reaaal C-47, and so is outline. This is a Fifth AF 1944 model, with precise art-work. Spent a while fiddling with the weathering. Gimme yore critique between the eyes !!!

Those tires sure could use some air.

Overall, it looks pretty nice. There's a detail here and there that I myself might do differently, but that's mainly a personal preference thing. The astrodome is a little hard to see. The wing looks a bit tacked on; the colors and shading on it don't match the fuselage and/or engine nacelle very well. some details like the cargo doors and wingtip light tend to jump out from the rest of the image.

good points, Jarink. yikes! had the rear door mounted wrong. also forgot there was a seventh window on starboard side (half now visible). window wipers added, weathering and handles on door. Correct aerials too. had not realized the hundreds of variations in these birds. OD spray over leading edges of wing, and tires inflated! I reckon this is as far as I go on this one - strike up the band !

My wife will be interested in this, she is drawing one at A3 300dpi.
Looks good to me from a stand off point of view, I have not drawn one yet so I have no idea if its right or wrong. I think you can have more fun with the weathering on the paintjob, but if you are happy with it as is, let it stand.

not sure something ain't right, but i can't put my finger on it, this is one aircraft i don't have what i would call reliable drawings, i have drawings, loads of them, but!!!

give me a day or two and i will go through my files and books and see if i can put my finger on it, i will probably end up doing a full study of all my photos and trying to piece together a decent sideview
then i will have no excuse for not finishing my B10 Bolo
