Mud? No one said anything to me about mud. You mean I have to get dirty? Oh well, cat's out of the bag now so I may as well finish what I started.

Finally got the tracks together. Maybe now the drawing will go faster as the rest of it isn't quite as fussy. Thanks for the inspiration Thierry!
Whaou ! Nice and very precise job. I need to see more !

otter,
you need to adjust your track, top track between rear main idler and last top idler should show sagging, also top track between main drive sprocket and first top idler should show less, stand and watch any tracked machine to see how the track reacts to the forces aplied to it,Cat trianguler tracks excluded![]()

John is right, May be more forces aplied here.

Tell ya what guys, if you wanna fix the tracks be my guest. I've been at the bloody things for a week now trying to get it right. It took me that long just to get the tracks connected properly. I'm not gonna spend another week at it. I've adjusted things until I'm nearlly blind. Changing track slack at this point involves major alterations. How Thierry does this on regular basis is a complete mystery to me. Mind if I move on to the rest of the job or should I just quit?

In fact, each track is a "symbol" (I use Flash for my line plan) and you can, time to time cheat a little bit with track positions. Sure, chassis is the most difficult part of a tank profile, but when you have customers, you can not stay more than a half hour on tracks. Usually I make my vehicle plans in 3 hours, and then I put colors and light/shadows with Photoshop (about 5 hours...). All is a question of experience and patience...I started profiles in 2008 with no experience in Photoshop and Flash.... I must say that Simmerspaintshop was very, very helpfull for me, especially with its IL2 skins tutorials
But I must says that your tracks are very good for a first time !
Here is an exemple with one of my last profiles

nice one thierry,
your profiles show you understand the mechanics of tracked vehicles, most people dont understand how they work in the first place, i dont mean you otter, but when you have worked on a 360% face shovel as driver and mechanic you soon learn![]()

Here is a another view of my profile from 10 Pz Div. I tested new technique of mud on my vehicle. Nice effects.
Cheers
