Just wanted to you guys have a great site going!Keep up the good work.
I'm currently in the Army and have very limited time off, so when I do I like to fly Aces High and looking to paint skins again.
I did one about two years ago of a Black P-38J and was accept. There was so much turmoil over the paint scheme of the plane that they took it out of the game. I was deployed at the time, so I could not defend myself on the forums. Now I'm looking to prove them wrong, hopefully.
I've only been able to find P-38M's that were painted all black and desperately want to find a G, J or L model. I've found a L model, but it was painted after the war and used as a air racer.
I would also look at painting a P38 that was possibly a different color as well. Like if the use the all Blue scheme like those on the F5's, but put it on a G, J, or L model.
I greatly apprieciate it if anyone could help me with this, thanx!

hi balsey,
right forget the "blue" one.
this is a paint scheme called "haze" it was semi translucent and varied on who sprayed it on, it gave you a different colour depending on where you looked at it.
sorry.

Could you please explain a little more....and could you paint the plane like that?
Photo Recon, same color was used on Mossies.
I have no clue about the validity of this photo. It looks war time or just post war and seems to be an original color photo, probably a 35 mm slide-
(Then again it could be a hand colored image...)
From this page-

The only ones I know for sure that were black were the P-38Ms -

Thank you guys for your help...I just got home after a 16 hour day and was delighted to see responses...My next question is was there any P-38J's painted in the Haze paint or PRU Blue before being converted into photo models or were just painted that way to begin with...I'm gonna hit the sack and hopefully you guys could dig deeper for me, I won't have time until Saturday to research any. I appericate your guys help, truly.
