    Heinkel He-111H2/wfz

This is my first profile drawing, but maybe also my last. Taken forever to make.

It's a fine start Loke. These kind of projects tend to become a more easy workflow as you continue, though they may become more slow or difficult as your desire for ever smaller and more accurate details increases.

    hi loke,

it's as good as my halifax's, just keep pressing on you will soon end up with profile equal to these on here, except mine, which are just so fantastic you would mistake them for the real thing!!!!!!!!!

That's great work, Loke, and a brilliant start.

Don't get discouraged about the time it takes. I spent over 300 hours on my first complex chopper profile, a Huey, and most of that was repeating and repeating and repeating what I had already done using different methods until it looked right. Oh, and corrections from not using proper references in the first place and having to redraw pretty much every line!

My second serious chopper profile, the Agusta 109, took 125 hours for something of the same complexity, the Mustangs took around 100, and a GA like the Piper Warrior takes me only around 25 hours now.

It does get quicker and easier very fast. And, you are in the right place to learn!

    Keep it up.

God, I have no clue how long it took to get a finished corrected Zero profile. I don't think I want to know! I've probably got close to 200 hours on my CL.II and it's not finished yet :P

It's a good start though Loke. Do you have your line work on a separate layer? I hope so. If you do, do a test; set that line layer to 50% and soft light. Try 20% and darken or multiply too. Ad is right, finer lines for sure. Also, less lines too. The less you see of those lines and the more they become indications of lines, the more three dimensional your plane will look.
Also, you need to know where you want to go with this, full realism, or a more graphic approach. The way to the realism deep end is to create your own lines and then ultimately abandon them completely in favor of subtle shading. But, you can see a completely different approach that is equally interesting and valid with something like what our Clave does; a good mix of graphic and realistic.

    Hi Loke,

In order to get more information to the He-111 profile, look at please this side.
There you get correct information over the machine in the original, and good look mate!

There I made my first mistake. I started out with having the outer lines and panel lines on the same layer. I later cut out the panel lines.

I think I like a combination of both, lets call it my style. I have no idea to copy others or even to make it look like what he did, or he did. That way it will never get good enough.

Time is my problem, I don't know how long this took. But we are talking about close to 6 months or more.
But I also work on many other things at the same time.
Like a template for the Albatros D.III, which is also why I made the three view drawing you have seen in another post.

Here a preview of the aircraft. Model is made by RAF_Magpie and paint by me.
This is still an early view of it, so many things will be added and changed over time.

Revolver: Thanks for the link, really appreciate it. Always been a fan of your templates and admire you knowledge of the German aircrafts.

And thanks all for your comments .

BTW. No one ever wondered about the He-111H2 version?
