    Cheers,
Nah, taking a bit of a break from profiling at the moment Baron.

I'm putting all my energies into something worthwhile for a change.

    Re: Now where were we?

I'm spending my time tilting at windmills.

Its a far more productive use of my time.

    Re: Now where were we?

Well, once you are finished "tilting at windmills" and go back to profiling, any chance of doing a profile of the P-38 "YIPPEE"?

He is probably pointing to Don Quichot as some sort of refference. Now we all know Don Quichot rides canon balls. Sadly this is illegal in most of the western world except in Wales and Luxemburg. What is the closest rideable round object resembling a canon ball? Indeed, a skippy ball. The most, if not only, logical explanation hence is he is riding a Skippy ball whilst drinking beer.

Like what Supah says, it's something Don Quixote was "famous" for.

Basically, in this case "tilting" refers to jousting.

OK. I probably would have understood the reference to Quixote, but the "tilting" threw me off.

    Re: Now where were we?

Goodwood is correct, its just a phrase from Don Quixote that has always appealed to me.

I thought it was a slightly more interesting (pretentious?) way of saying im a bit bored with (my) profiling at the moment.

    A nice succinct explanation here.
tilt at windmills: Information from Answers.com

Engage in conflict with an imagined opponent, pursue a vain goal, as in Trying to reform campaign financing in this legislature is tilting at windmills.
This metaphoric expression alludes to the hero of Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote (1605), who rides with his lance at full tilt (poised to strike) against a row of windmills, which he mistakes for evil giants.

    I've hijacked my own thread.

You're normal transmission can now resume...
