    Help with removing Advanced Layer Prop...

    Hi All;

    Having a bit of difficulty and wondering if you might have any suggestions....This is regarding Photoshop 7, & PhotoDeluxe Business Edition 1.1 which is the same as Photoshop Home Edition 4.0. The trouble I'm having is in PS7 layer style or properties shown below:

    At the top we have "General Blending", this simply layer opacity which is used in all three versions. Below that we have "Advanced Blending" with its various options.

    My trouble is I quite simply have not worked with PS7 enough to be able to work well within it. Call me dim, yet it's too complex and has too many new features (to me, realizing it is very out dated), so all of my work till I learn is done in PD BE1.1 (basically the first version of photoshop) and suits me fine at the moment...........However, I'm trying to utilize a template that has a number of layers utilizing "Advanced Blending". These fail in PD BE 1.1 causing the template to become worthless in that program.

    What I'd like to do is, somehow convert those layers using "Advanced Blending" (all only utilizing what you see checked and opacity), to basically end up with the Adv. Blending Opacity at 100% thus allowing me to use the template in PD BE 1.1.............Now I can accomplish this by merging layers. The trouble is some of those Adv. Blended layers are above/on top of where I need to work. If I merge them they become opaque, and then naturally do not work as intended (and I doubt/don't know simply making them translucent again will work).

    What I don't want to have to do is do work in PD BE 1.1, then transfer layers into PS7 in that there are many and the result has not been good thus far.

    This is utilizing JestersInk Ki-61 template. Thanks for any advice you can render. Any suggestions?

    Re: Help with removing Advanced Layer Prop...

    Whoops....Well guess this is why you should try before asking :x

    I simply merged layers below without issue. Then, merged layers above the areas I want to work in groups that had the advanced blending they naturally then turning to 100% opacity.......Saved and then added in PDBE1.1 a layer in between to test. In kind added that same layer in the non merged PS7 template, and made a bright of each to test in the sim IL2.

    I could see no difference in the two results.....So it looks like my problem is solved. Sorry for the trouble.
