Hehe. I'd say the first reply would've been "I don't have your permission to make you a sandwich". As a regular sudo user, JMO.

In Ubuntu it just doesn't do anything if you don't add sudo when necesary, doesnt even tell you why!

Hmm, I'll have to test that tomorrow. Maybe it was an app giving me the messages I recall.

A couple days back I was working with an application in the terminal on Mepis Linux (which uses "su") and one command I ran reported that I'd need to run a chmod (and named the directory) so it could operate correctly.

I messed with Ubuntu for a while but there are still certain things that bug me compared to windows which are mainly caused by me being to stupid to do them by myself. Just getting a Ubuntu machine operating in a windows network via Samba is beyond me at the moment!

I watched the video, there is a lot of moving about ... when do they get to the actual config editing ? And isn't it even harder when moving about like that?
