    B29: test for metal effects...

    Hi guys,
Ok, usually, you know me for my vehicle profiles, but I'm just passing to greet you all with a B29 Bomber. Of course, I feel more "fluent" in my tank catagory, but I wanted to test myself on a quite difficult metal effects with this US Bomber. Here is my profile.
All the best and I promise to go back to my vehicule category for the next time...

thats not bad at all !
I think however, that the blue tone on the upper fuselage are too prominent. Try and subdue it abit, and i think youŽll get a better result.
Also, try and add some tone difference in the panels...it gives a nice effect when the panels are not quiet the same shade.
    apart from that...good job !

How do you make the white panel lines ?

Hi Aircraftprofiles and thanks for your comments. I will manage the blue effect to make it less prominent. For panels, I've made some tone difference in the panels, espacially in the first part of the bomber, but here, it's not enough prominent . But at this scale, I don't want to make it too prominent.
For the panel lines, I use skin technik present in this forum for IL2 skin effects. Not so easy..
    Regards.

Looks good. I've been waiting a long time for this one.

I'd suggest you try with the underside not as dark. NMF would reflect a lot of light on the underside of the aircraft as well. I would also check the shape of the rudder.

Ah...NMF the one thing around here that I know something about!

It looks about right colour wise to me, maybe just a little too heavy with the blue. I just think you just need to experiment with the opacity of the layers that make up your NMF, like your panel lines they seem a little heavy handed atm.

From here it should just take a couple hundred hours to get right, if that is indeed possible.

Hi guys and thanks for all your comments. I know that I was right to put my bomber to your aviation forum . Sure, it change me a little bit from mud and oil track and chassis.
I will make some modification following you comments..
    All the best.

Hey Wald, color-wise, it's very nice. But I think you're going too heavy with both the panel lines and highlights next to the panel lines. Right now, to my eyes, they give the impression of large gaps with deeply beveled edges. Take a look at these-

Notice how many of the panels are more suggestions rather than fully delineated black lines.
I think your profile will look much better and very much more real with less visible lines and line highlights. Try toning down the opacity.
And, of course since I'm always harping on about reflected light, I have to heartily agree with Gamary about the reflected light on the underside. Nothing looks more like bare metal than bare metal with reflected like
    Nice work over-all Wald!

    FAST AND BULBOUS!
