    Anytime...Baby !

He´s my lastest project....I decided to get back on my homepitch with: The Tomcat...The shading of the Wing/INtake section was quite hard, but here´s the result so far. As you can see there´s quite a long way to go still, but so far i´m quite happy with the result.

Let me know what you think.

Shading and highlighting look great! Something about the nose shape is bugging me, though.

Is the transition from nose cone to fuselage correct? It might just be my tired eyes, but it seems too "bulgy".

    I love the F-14!

hmmm...you might be right...I´ll leave it for now and see if it looks right when the panel lines and the IR sensor is in place. Thanks for you comment, I´ll keep an eye on the nose.

Here's a shot that might help. Direct side-view pics available in the Gallery--if you can figure out how to navigate it (now Joe, don't get started on that again...)

    Good shot Vacajun!
I almost think the vertex of the nose cone needs to be moved down ever so slightly. The transition point (from fuse bottom to cone) looks to be in the right place, though.

The hard deck for this engagement is 10,000 feet.

I don't wain to be a pain in the *** either, but I agree with Joe: I tried finding a picture in the Gallery a few days ago (I know it's in there) but finally gave up as I couldn't figure how to get to it.

    Nice Tomcat, AP!

So far so good ! I have been busy with details and have started the weathering scheme, without having made much progress). These eary F-14As did use the Pheonix rail, but my plans is to make the entire VF-143 Tomcat timeline, so on the later versions that will be added too. That goes for IR sensor and tank aswell.
I´m not sure about the nose...I think i need to wait till tomorrow and have a look at it with fresh eyes..

Let me know what you think.

My only suggestion so far would be to slightly lighten the shading on the front portions of the flush inlets behind the gun.
    Example 1
    Example 2

PS: Some of the early ones had grills instead. I don't know when this changed.

Still something odd about the nose IMHO, but I don't know what it is.

I think so too. I´ll look into that...I think a minor tweek will do the trick.
