    Exclamation I need 3D help!

Does anyone here work in 3D? I need a relatively simple structure drawn in 3D and turned into a .jpg so that I can trace it out. If I plot it out by traditional methods I'll be at it forever.

I do not have a 3D program and wouldn't know how to use one. I need someone who DOES have a 3D program so they can take my plans and turn it into a 3D image so I can make a perspective illustration.

Hi Otterkins, well thats a big ask because its a lot of work, as you will know, or not know, every aspect of your 2D line drawing needs a 3D form in 3D space in effect its like modelling the thing for real and its very time consuming, unless its just a loose wire frame you require. I have used Lightwave, Form Z and now Modo 401. Try a traditional method of the technical illustrator using the computer go to [url=http://www.khulsey.com] This method is good practice for improving ones perspective drawing skills (not that you need to improve your drawing!) It uses a defined formula of trimetric rules and projection, just depends on how quick you need it, and the level of detail. Seems Grubby's up for it anyway. If you need help with this do not hesitate to ask. I would like to help with the 3D but it's all about time.

I sent you the files 3 days ago Grub. Um, Grafiko, I'm well aquainted with using the traditional method as noted in my original post. Doing it in Illustrator is rather difficult. Hand drawing it and then scanning would be 10 times faster, but my studio is unuseable at the moment. All I need is the lines...period. They are all straight...no compound curves or anything like that. If you need Modo tutes, I've got quite a few of them for beginners as I was thinking about giving it a whirl.

Hi Otterkins, thanks for the offer on the Modo tuts and you should give it a go, have quite a few of the tutorials here, 301 and 401. Sorry about the tech ill stuff did not realise it was such a simple job, you should have posted it. Anyway, time to go back to being quiet

I gave it a brief stab Grafiko, but at the time I couldn't even figure out how to move around the screen nevermind draw anything. After a week of being able to do absolutely 0, zilch, nada with it I gave up in disghust.

Otterkins, I've been modeling in Soldiworks for about 12 years now, send it my way and I'll take a stab at it.
