    posting work on forum

    Hi all Merry Xmas!

Just looking for a bit of advice on how to post work on this forum.

I have nearly completed a line drawing of a Spitfire Mk VIII & would like to post it up for bashing..oops..critisism before i start the paintwork.

The current image size is A2 & a tad big for this forum, so what's the best way of posting it up? I was thnking of reducing the image/canvas size then hosting it on photobucket then a link to it in a post. My only concern is that the detail will be lost when reducing & was wondering if there is a way around it?

Or do people use screenshot captures? I imagine this would only be for zoomed in shots of detail?

Let me know your thoughts..i need to grab another coldy.

    Cheers

To keep de file viewable the maximum size accepted is 400 kB and 1280x1280 pixels.
If you upload anything larger, the website will resize the file.

    Cheers Serval

I have noticed in the past that some pics have a resize window ie click here to view at original size etc, if i want people to see the detail of drawing do i try to link a A2 size pic in a post & people will be able to see it?? think its a big ask to me, but would be great. If that is the case do i should post a warning of some sort, yes?

Currently in Esperance WA, freezing my butt off, might have to get off the beer & into port Nice view of the islands though.

Cuda, limit yer file width to 1280. You just save the reduced image as a new file. If you want to show more detail, you'll need to cut the image apart. Do screen shots of the area you want to display and then cut out the dross in photoshop (or use a program like Snagit) and reduce to 1280 in width. You might need to post 5 or 6 pictures to show the whole thing at the resolution you want, but it gets the job done.

Can't be colder there than here. We just passed through a -40c spell. With the wind chill, you don't dare stick yer nose outdoors for more than 5 minutes. Exposed skin freezes fast. Makes taking out the garbage a real adventure. Hope yer safe and warm....and the rest of the Simmers too! If ya need help Cuda just PM me. I live on line.

If you want to show some details, crop a piece of the image.
I'm not planning on hosting larger pictures, because it costs a lot of diskspace and especially bandwidth.
