    Sopwith Camel F1

Halo folks, after a long time, but here mine contribution for this formidable website. I made a profile of the Sopwith Camel F1. The drawings of Replicraft I use as a reverence. The first picture the Camel fresh from the factory. The second after some heavy weeks on the front line. I won a show you that weathering your profile it gifs you plane a more interesting look of file. I start a project call "Sopwith Camel stripped" were I show al the parts and details of Great-War period aeroplane. Interested visit my website mb koopman, design-aviation 3D illustration

Looks really nice Martin! Doesn't look like a 3D render to me though. Looks like created with normal 2D methods? And you forgot the propeller dude. Other than that I like very much.

Well its a nice 3D render that looks like a 2D image then! Perhaps I'm too used to seeing the guys on Simmers profiling skills. They are as good as 3D renders.

All in all it looks very nice. Would look nicer with cool wood grain textured prop?

Thumbs up Re: Sopwith Camel F1

It looks really-really good. Like that you made it both as new and heavily used. Maybe if you added a little blood near the cockpit.

OK thanks for your comments. I's just a 2D illustration made in Illustrator and Photoshop your extremely wright. The Sopwith Camel Stripped project is in 3D look for details at mine web-site. The blood thing, wen I finished de illustration I had the same though but I think it is too much. The propeller, I know it is for a airplane very important but in the illustration it is a very big ponderous thing so I skip it always in mine illustrations.

Really nice! Can I make a few suggestions? See if you can get the airfoil contour in the bottom of the lower wing. It's not a deep airfoil but it's noticeable-

The cowling and the metal panel just after it share the same shape and contour where they meet. The shading on these two pieces should be consistent.

You also might want to look into the green color. It should be PC10, a color no one seems to agree on, but it was definitely a brown or brown-green color depending on who you listen too.
Here is a study I did with a strip of PC10 coated fabric-

The argument arises when the age of the fabric and the dope are considered, what did the color look like brand new? Some first hand accounts say it was a chocolate brown but most people go with a brownish olive color.

I like your profile a lot, you've even got the correct gap in the tail

If you want to get really crazy with the detail, you can add the lettering to the tire-
