Thread: Thud !!!

    Thud !!!

After my external harddrive (with my F-4 WIP on) have crashed (donīt know yet if itīs unrecoverable). I decided to try something new. So here goes the Thud. I Wanted to try out my NM-skills, and this is a first for me...but what do you think ?

Rivets will also come, and some more weathering will be added...I have taken quite a liking to this odd looking aircraft, so i think i might do some camo versions too.

My plans is to do all the Century series fighters, but first things first !

Thanks in advance for you comments !

    Re: Thud !!!

Hi Aircraft profiles sorry to hear about the HD crash I would probably cry if that happened to me. Every night I back my current WIP to an external as well as Internal HD so at worst I lose only a days work. Your profile is looking nice.

    Re: Thud !!!

i am not happy with the lower rear fuselage,
looks very strange, just going through my hundreds of images to see if i can pinpoint the fault

i think you made the bulge to fat and it needs lengthening (maybe)

    Re: Thud !!!

it might look better when you put the underside finlet in place whose drawings are you using for a base

    Re: Thud !!!

Thanks JM ! Iīll keep an eye on that part of the fuselage as i proceed (I know you will too ) I use Lou Drendals line drawing from F-105 in action...The underside finlet and the rudder might make it all come together, but weīll see about that.

Really cool photo by the way ! Where do you find those old USAF photos ? I have decided to add a USAF section to my site aswell, and have about 100 USAF phantom photos and a single F-101 shot aswell...Iīm very interested in getting more photos to add. I have decided to limit myself to teh century series so far, but who am i fooling ? I know that within too long, thereīll be F-16s, A-10s, B-52 etc etc etc on my site aswell

Thansk for all of your comments... I really appriciate it !

    Re: Thud !!!

    where do i get them,

spending weeks at a time searching the internet over the last 10 years

heres a image from a walkround looking to the rear, notice how the bulge is only slight.

by the way, i have loads of old images of this bird, most in NM, and a load in nam colours
