The making of Gladiator 'Faith'
Since there appears to be some interest in my ‘dismantling’ and subsequent reassembly approach to making profiles I thought I’d better show that it also works on a different sort of aeroplane. Although the Glad was made in 32 different stages, I have condensed it to show just the basic process. The multi layering process in Photoshop is ideal for my purposes and I must say it’s been getting better and better. (Currently I am using CS5 and it is undoubtedly their best yet. CS4 was a step in the right direction, but only a step). Once again the image size is 6000 pixels. If you are wondering why it loses its spinner, it was because I learnt during my researches that ‘Faith’ ran out of engine bits, so the only thing available was an old Blenheim engine which was very similar. To keep ‘Faith’ flying and fighting, this was duly fitted. Ergo, no spinner. ‘Faith’ has now been restored to original state and is on display in the Museum in Valetta.
