    L-39 Albatros

Ugo and I debated doing this a few weeks ago, and finally we end up both doing it... Here's my version of the L-39:

Still a long way to go, but it's now starting to look like something.

Done some more work on the Albatros:

The paint job is a quick an dirty test to see how the model looks like with a real livery.

Really sweet details on that, nice and subtle like they should be! When are you going to put the propeller on it?

hmm, NIce work, detail etc...BUT when I remember these planes in my mind to see them on airshows, they all were more shiny. That metal is not so easy to scratch...they looked like polished, sprayed with polish/lacquer....I doubt any of those were "combat use dirty weathered"...

    Re: L-39 Albatros

    I've finished the template/first model:

This one belonged to 444th TsTBT i PLS of the Russian Navy in 2005.

Peter: you are right. I have over-weathered it and I should tone it down a little. However, this specific aircraft does have a little weathering. It's not an airshow star.

Glad you like 'em. As Ugo told me, the Albatros is a "fun little toy".

I still need to improve my gloss techniques ('especially when compared to some of the guys here - I don't need to give names ) but for once I'm rather happy with the results (except for the fin perhaps ).
