i try my hardest for you guys
Much appreciated. I'd love to have a chance to buy you a good drink (Bacardi, I assume) but we don't run into each other very often. One day, hopefully.

Here's what I found on my end:

This is a B Mk II seen from below, and gives a rather decent idea of how the thing is made.

I have a few more and can send the lot to any one who needs it. From what I understand:

The B.II had a similar arrangement on the rear part of the bay, with the enlarged doors joining the FN64 belly turret smoothly. The front part is different.

The B.I or B.III (or Canadian-built B.X) had a shallow front part. When the FN64 turret was installed, the doors faired back to it. When it wasn't used, they simply made a "step". The B.I (FE) is similar.

There were also other experimental installations, for the Anti Ship bombs, for example. These had varying shapes.

As a result, I've revised my interpretation:

Sorry about the red circles and comments. This is just my "checklist" layer, which I forgot to turn off and I'm too lazy to open the file and remove it.

Let me know what you guys think. I believe this is accurate (for a B. I or III with no FN 64).

Be careful with Canadian mk.x models, early models had their mid upper turrets installed in the UK then the Martin 50 call turret was fitted at the factory.

Yep. The enlarged bomb bays (when fitted) on those were standard, though.

The Lancaster is soooo simple when compared to the multitude of variants for the B-17 and B-24. I'm not saying it's dead simple, but comparatively...

I got around to checking your shape for your Lanc today Gaetan.
Gave me one hell of a surprise, your shape is almost exactly the same as mine started in 2007, all but for 2 small things. Can you think what they might be?
The rest is so damn close you'd think we'd worked from the same lines, but we all know I don't do that.
All I can think of, since mine wasn't public in any way, is you either broke into my house (almost impossible) since the alarm is both infra-red and motion, or . . . . you used the same photo as a guide?

All the same, what did you use for ref, because we are either both right or smoke the same substance, (and for all you kids out there, I don't smoke)

    Re: Avro Lancaster

Yes, well, about that alarm... It's not very effective. Took it down in 18 seconds flat.

I've worked from plans I've found here and there, discovered they were no good, so I corrected them with photos I found on airliners.net and a few other website.

The trick to find a photo taken from the side, with little or no distorsion (telelenses are good for this). When you can find a good one, you can always use several pictures, by only keeping the parts of the pic that are not distorted...

As for the two small things, I dunno. The fin perhaps? Engine pods?

I think this only goes to show how brilliantly clever we are, don't you agree?
