    Comments & critisism welcome

    Hi all,

Firstly, thank you to all for the resourses available at this great site, amazing stuff!!

Just after a bit of feedback for an upcoming release for CFS2. I think I choose the correct colours, correct me if I'm wrong, 72,73,65? Also would've prefered a more detailed unit insignia, but was unable to find any details about units of this rare bird, only 7 examples made. Looks like a drogon of sorts, or winged seahorse?

Anyway found some interesting pics here,
Wehrmacht-Awards.com Militaria Forums - Fantastic and rare complete group to a GJ airlifted into Narvik

EDIT, pics no longer attached to the thread, sorry.

    Jamie

BTW, it's not a new A/C, but an FS9 to CFS2 conversion of an existing A/C.

Whooaa!! What a beast!! Did you make the model yourself? I wish I could help with the emblem but my knowlage is more allied orientated. The only person I know who is a sort of expert in this field is CanonUK who frequents the UBI forums. He has an amazing knowlage of German fighter units and their markings but I'm not sure if even he would have any info on this unit. Any chance of making it suitable for FS9??

Hunhunter, I wish!! If only I could build them too!! It is already a FS9 bird, originally looked like this. Should be available at the main sites. My new textures will work okay in FS9 aswell, just copy and paste them in. Unfortunately the turrets will be a no show as they are a weapons loadout in CFS2.

Interesting plane, must have sounded amazing on takeoff. And you've done well on the repaint I think. Looks good.

That is one neat looking aircraft. I found some vague details on it, perhaps they might be of use to you m8. According to my book, the five flyable Dornier Do26's were used in the Norwegian campaign, and two were shot down by Hurricanes of 46 squadron on May 28, 1940.

"...Later another Hurricane patrol came across two Dornier Do26 flying boats unloading supplies at Rombaksdfjord. The three pilots, Flt Lt Jameson (N2543), Fly Off Knight (L1980) and Plt Off Johnson (L1798), dived to attack and soon both Dorniers were on fire, the pilots watched the German troops struggle to unload the equipment that the flying boats were carrying."

Unfortunately, there is no mention of unit, but perhaps the theatre will narrow things down a bit for you?

As for liking those other planes, I would love to have a Lancaster in Il2. IMHO, the best looking bomber of WW2. (Don't ask me why I think so, it just is lol)

    Re: Comments & critisism welcome

    Thanks all,

Guess they'll do. I spent hours on-line looking for info about the Do26. Not much apart from the same basic stuff repeated on several sights, no mention of units. I knew they were operated in the Norway theatre, some sources say as many as 7 examples, others 6 or 5.

Sorry, the skins are for CFS2 and can also be used in FS2002/2004 depending on the original aircraft. I've never played any of the Il2 games as the lack of expanding the sim is too limited for my liking, I seem to spend more time under the bonnet than driving!! But I like it. Didn't like CFS3 for similar reasons. The Lanc has always been one of my favourites, love unleashing the Grandslam on the poor unsuspecting sailors below.

HunHunter, don't worry, it's not like we all ain't done it before!! All spent to many hours glued to the ol? tube. ..
