The main gear leg....which does not want to fit properly. Odd, since it's modeled after a photo the same as I always work.

    Hello Otterkins2,

    what is your problem?
    That looks very good already.

Here is a picture photographed by my father.
It shows the range of shock absorber.

    Greetings
    Heli

In the cockpit of the courier Bf 108, of the III./JG 53 "Pikas" sits Werner Moelders.

What's my problem Helmut? It isn't right....period. Anyone here will tell you I'm a total freak for accuracy. We have for too long been duped by (and accepted because that was the best available) "artists" who said "That's good enough." Well it isn't good enough for me. We all need something we can rely upon honestly before this generation slips away and we no longer have people to record things first hand. I will not place my name on anything I am not sure I haven't researched carefully through photographs and that all lines fall within scale millimeters of where they should be.

I don't know how to paint, so the lines I present to all of you better damn well be the best I can make them. This is far from complete as there is much more detail to add yet.....but at least I'm sure the placement of lines are correct insofar as the reference material I have at hand.

    Hi Otter!

Looks good so far, but have to add some notes.

If you comapre the attached photograph by Heli you will notice that you have to rework these points:

    1. Canopy front lower section is more round.
    2. Round cover of the engine in front of the canopy ends tangential to the vertical slit between engine cover and fuselage
    3. Also I'm not sure if you got the cover between the wing and fuselage right. (front side) For me the line for the cover should be a little bit higher.

    Cheers, Simon

Simon mein Freund! The canopy is an exackt duplicate of photos I have on hand, so I think I'll leave that as is. I believe there is some photo distortion to the wonderful picture Helmut provided as this line appears quite different when viewed side on. The wing fillet I'm not so sure about and I'll have to examine that with more care. I'm not sure what you mean by your second comment. The enclosed partial photo was thankfully provided to me by Inky.
