Cool use of colours in the o.p, great idea.
Never really thought that the Delta was much of a looker myself. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
The spindly under-cart, looks like it can barely keep this porker off the tarmac.![]()

Biggest potential "Gotcha" for this rascal is the wingtip area which changed from an upturned "Case X" wingtip in 1957 (after 500 aircraft had been built) to a conical camber "Case XX" wingtip in which the leading-edge droop continued to the wingtip.![]()
Happy 600th, GFR!
Must be the fatigue speaking, Joe, but what the heck is case X and XX? I really didn't get that? You did get my attention, though, and I'd love to figure out what this is about.

GM,
The Case XX wing was a vast improvement from the earlier Case X wing. These photos show the very obvious differences and are from the BEST F-102 book ever written "Convair F-102 Delta Dagger" by Wayne Mutza (Schiffer). More than you'll ever want to know about the Dagger with lots of color photos and operational info. I highly recommend it.![]()
Thanks for the explanation, Joe. I think the conical bit was what lost me. I just couldn't visualize what that meant.![]()
