    Question Remove White in CS5

    Hello,
I have a question you do:

How do you remove the white in the IL2 VOID.BMP to make a template and start a skin?

The version I use is photoshop CS5

Thank you very much for the inconvenience, and excuse my English.

Select the whole void, copy and paste it into a new project as a layer.
Give that new project/image file a transparent background (checkered look).

Now set the layer which holds the void from Normal to Blending option Multiply.
Now you can put any layer with camouflage behind it.
Play with those blending options, so you know which does what. Ik might give you other ideas as well

    Re: Remove White in CS5

Any image with white background (mostly ww2 drawings) I try to open in CS5 can't be "removed white"... I mean, I open any such image on a separate layer and when I try to multiply it -- nothing happens...
    In CS4 everything works fine...
I have no intention to download/install/use any pesky CS5 Extension Managers + some rubbish plug-ins...
    Any other ideas?

I use Mike and Yael's Remove White plugin and have never had a problem with it.

What about turning off all the other layers, loading a selection from the primary channel and then using that to create a new layer without the white or just delete it?

The main idea of removing white is to work with aircraft drawings... But many of them have very tiny (barely visible) rivets... If using your method, Inky, you'll loose 'em (they just can't be selected that simple)...

I'm not saying delete the black stuff, by loading a selection from the channel you will remove the white, the grey such as tiny rivets will be picked up at 50% opacity and the black will be solid, can always duplicate a layer to darken or play with the levels before the extraction.
