    Stonewell/Bellcom VF-1S Valkyrie

For those of us who grew up in the 80's there are few more famous T.V. shows than Robotech/Macross. I'd rush homw to watch with wonder the awesome space battles and the striding mecha.

So with some nostalga I've re-embraked on the road to profile the Vlakyrie (at 6 ALL my twin tale toy planes were Valks). Here's tonight's progress:

To compare this is my first attempt at profiling the Valk:

A small update on the VF-1S. I've settled on the F-14D three tone TPS for the intial few profiles, may do Skull leader too

Any chance of the upgrades while you're at it? Or even a Jetfire version?

Good so far, however the shading round the nose is really out, the highlight is too high and should be dropped down a little and blended in a bit more, possibly lighten up the underside of the nose cone a bit and then the shadows in around the legs can be made darker in contrast. Are you going to do the other two modes as well?

Well after saving my art from a failing HDD and enduring the slog of re-installing XP and all the needed updates to get somewhere, I've actually finished the Vlak! Here's the first of the non cannon profiles in something of mismatched scheme. She's wearing the F-14's three tone TPS but the F-4's tail art

    I hope you like her!

And now for a trip down memory lane. I give you Roy Focker's VF-1S "Skull One"

Thanks to Talos for the excellent references on the fuselage markings. I hope it brings back as many awesome memories for you as it did for me, been humming the Robotech theme all afternoon!!

Never robotech, always Macross for me, I can't put my finger on what it is but there is something about the shading that looks a little unfinished to me in places or possibly unclear exactly where the light source is coming from.
    Harriers...uppy downy things.
