I like that Ink, looks nice. Now where's that dirt the client wanted?
BTW, those engines put out loads of oil and on the upper wing, top and bottom. Might want some dark grim through the center section.

I could use any drawings/line art you have of this bird too please BH. No rush, I've penciled it in for 2023, when I should have time
Sure thing Jester. I might have mine finished by then

    Re: Albatros

The second version looks much better to my totally uneducated eye. By this I mean I have no idea whatsoever of how it should look like, and that this is purely a personal opinion.

The one problem is indeed that it looks too clean and computer-generated. I assume you'll be starting the weathering now.

If I can give a little bit of advice: make multiple layers of weathering, even barely visible ones: noise, tiny scratches, etc.

That's what I do with mine. If I turn on/off one of the layers, the difference is barely noticeable. The multiplication of these weathering layers makes it looks irregular and aged IMO.

Added some dirt, time is running out so probably got the maximum of an hour tomorrow to wrap anything up.

Quick question, would the upper surface of the bottom wing essentially be the same as the upper wing or reversed as some of Mark's 3d views indicate? Plus still playing with the prop.

    Nice dirt!
I still think you should lose those two ribs on the vertical fin. Those fin sides were a single piece of plywood and although the plywood warped and rippled, it wouldn't form two nice creases.

(That's a D.III mind you but the fin structure and paneling is identical)
But other than that, it looks REALLY good

Looks very good indeed, especially the top view which is the best of the 3 IMHO. I'd only suggest lowering the ribbing effect a bit and adding very small weathering details. But you might not have the time for that (not to mention the fact it's your drawing and your call )

Give me more time and I'd be able to get it up to your standards and double check EVERYTHING against the photos.

I've knocked back the ribs a little as suggested Gamary but for some reason I'm just not happy with this profile, some really go well and I'm happy with the results, but for some reason working on this one, I've just not been comfortable with the results.

Thanks as always for all the help, tips and advice

    That's a pity.

    I know the feeling, though.

I still think it's pretty good considering how little time you had on this one. It's a pretty complicated subject even if you're already familiar with it!
