painting over
Hi,
I am very new to repainting and pretty much suck at it, I ve been trying to repaint a B707-700 in original United Airlines livery form the '80's.
My problem is I have never found a paint kit all I have is a livery of
a Boieng model. What I want to know is, is it possible paint over that scheme and paint the UAL livery over it, I have not been able to delete the old livery to paint a new on it. I use Photoshop and use FS9.
Thanks for any consideration,
Carl

Re: painting over
Hi Teejay,
What I used to do in those cases, was to try to make my own templates. Basically copying everything I could from the existing livery that is reusable, then recreating some of the details where I had to. Once I was good at this (for the IL2 sim), I eventually recreated 100% of the template materials, just for the enjoyment.
Once done, you can build what ever you want underneath.
Not the simplest method, but I was a beginner back in those days, and building my own templates for IL2 went a long way to developing my skills.
