guys,
long time since I was here ! This is a model 11 G4M1 of the 4th Ku which was photographed heading to Port Moresby from Rabaul in mid 1942. The lower wavy camou is correct etc. I must say this took a long time, and its a finicky beast with many subtle parts,

Hey MC, Looking good. This is looking nice and gritty.
I think you need to revisit your shadows, though. Under your tailplane is a lot darker than under your wings. I think the opposite would be more accurate. The shadows should darken under the wings the further you get away from the edges. Under the tailplane, you'll actually get quite a bit of reflected light, or bounce-back, from the ground and fuse so it would be a relatively well-lit undersurface.
Grubby.
just a quick drawing from the design with precision books.![]()

Shadows, shadows, shadows!![]()
ok michael,
recieved image, as i suspect i think you may have interpretated the colours wrong, i will try to find something better for you so i can show you it is the two tone brown and green scheme, don't take this as gospel, let me prove my case first, i could be wrong![]()

What's going on with the cowling flaps? They all look like they're on a flat plain rather than a round nacelle. Plus they look like they're inside the nacelle rather than attached flush.
FAST AND BULBOUS!
John,
I'd be surprised if any 4th Ku G4M1s were two tone. At least, I've never seen any evidence of this. Not saying I'm right, and look forward to what you can come up with . . .
