Ha! I built many plastic kits a quite a few years ago. I never had a quality painting setup, so the results were not great. If I ever did take the hobby up again, I think it would be naval vessels I'd focus on.

Hmmm. yes....

When we had to move and I wouldn't have enough room in the new house I shot all my models with an airrifle.
Especially the ones on the ceiling were fun. I still remember the B-36 with 1 meter (about 3 ft) wingspan coming down after serveral hits.

Now I regret it a bit.

I do have some models lying around. Especially a bunch of Fokkers from the Battle of Holland. When I think I'm good enough again in making models I will start with them.

I have a few plastic models that survived, and several wargame models and figures. Recently I discovered a magnificent line of 10mm (N) scale ACW ironclads designed for naval wargames. This led to me spending my free time this week happily planning a 1/200 scale replica of Fort Jackson, Louisiana. I have almost enough information to make a final plan and profile and start cutting!

Hello,

I'm new here so I hope I'm in the right area. I'm looking for a resource for scalable WWII warbird skins. We are doing something a little different from creating sims. We create RC warbirds using 3mm and 6mm Depron foam. We have a printer capable of printing directly to the foam. I am attachting some images of an ME109 we created. This particular plane has a 33" WS. I have been admiring the work that everyone dose and I understand that Serval has some scalable skins.

This is very nice work. The scalable products we have are currently limited to the markings on the plane. Aside from some experimentation I've done with vector drawing programs, I've not seen any complete skins created using this method. This is primarily because our sims don't accept this format in the first place.

About the aircraft, I notice the controls are cut out, and hinged. How is the aircraft controlled and powered?

Thank you for the reply. The plane is radio controlled. We have a flying version with an electric motor, receiver, li-poly battery pack, speed controler and servos. The control surfaces are operated by the servos.

Love the Albatross - never saw one with streamers on the tail - who was the pilot?

The one, THE ONLY, Ernst Udet!
All the planes Udet flew, with the exception of the earliest ones, were marked with LO for Lola Zink, his girlfriend at the time.
A lot of Jasta commanders had streamers either on the tail or from the wing struts. It's a nice detail.


BTW Vigilante, I miss your old banner, not that the new one isn't really good...but I liked the old one a lot
