Got any good photos for us to compare it to? My first thought is that the bevels look rather smooth and obvious on the raised parts.

I'm making full repaint of the textures for P-39 cockpits for FB series of games.
Currently I'm making an armor plate that was installed behind pilots' seat, though I'm trying hard I can't make it look... e-m-m... "armored"
Any suggestions?
Perhaps those guys who make amazing tanks profiles can help?
