    Messerschmitt Bf 109G

Well, here goes nothing. I'm going to (finally) try my hand at the 109, starting with the G-2 or G-6.

I've been hoping I could get a copy of Otterkin's line art but haven't found one. We'd planned to do the 109 and 190 together (we had already worked on the He 162 together). He seemed quite enthusiastic to have me do these aircraft, and I was more than happy to have him advise me on them as he obviously knew them a lot (which I don't)... Things didn't turn out as planned as you all know...

Does anyone have a copy of his line art for the Gustav? Alternatively, can anyone advise me on the best available line art for that model? John?

    Help!

To my complete utter and dumbfounded astonishment I found this hiding away in a pub in Gravesend. So arranged to take some ultra detailed shots. Let me know if you want? G-K rudder (the most interesting thing is the two different WNr.s. One painted out. Probably replacement rudder) :

    Actually it's a late-war Bf109G rudder.

OH MY, it will be a BIG and interesting job! I'll be watching and waiting. Will this be the ultimate 109? I think you've a really good chance at that!

I dont know how I came by them, but I've got to assume that Otter posted them here, but I've got a G6, G8 G10 and G14 versions of his work @1200x480 if they're of any help.

Hopefully his work will surface sometime in the future, would seem a waste otherwise.

Maybe Jester can help with the G-2. Always considered his work to be the last word on the matter.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with as well.

It would certainly be a shame too see Otter's work go to waste. You kind of have to think about what Otter would have wanted....

Will this be the ultimate 109?
Thanks for the kind words, but I'm afraid I don't know as much as I should about the Bf 109. I've been studying but it's a very wide subject!

@John and GFR: That would be fantastic! My impression is that Otters devoted a lot of time and energy to his work and that he wanted it to be available to everyone. He provided help to more people than I can think of on profiles and plans.

Even when we worked together on the He 162, I made it clear to him that I was getting paid for the job by an editor and that I felt it would be normal to pay/compensate him for his help. The only thing he accepted was for me to print some of the profiles we'd done together and send them to him.
