Did your friend have a reference photo to work from? Perhaps he mistook the yellow for white which can happen depending on the quality of the photo. The fact he included some strange specific elements ie the III Gruppe bar makes me think that a photo might just exist of this aircraft. Which undoubtably you need to track down.

Sure, we have to track down.. I will contact him when he will back from...holidays ! .
