IL2 Noseart BMP file size question. Is 129KB (as opposed to 130KB) okay?
I'm making noseart for a IL2 campaign using Photoshop CS5. I took a noseart bmp file that came with the game, erased the picture so I was left with the grey background. I used that as my template for my custom noseart. I converted the image mode to RGB Color and started painting images on new layers (at this point I'm working with a psd file). To save the file as a bmp file, I first change the Image Mode to Indexed Color, and then save the file as an 8-bit Windows bmp file. I noticed that all the files in the Noseart folder are 130KB, but my custom files are either 129KB or 130KB. I just don't understand why. Does it make a difference? Out of the 40 noseart files, all but 2 seem to work fine. Thanks for any insight you may provide.

Hi,
From what I understand, the 129KB is correct. I just created a test .BMP file at 256x512 resolution and when saving it in indexed color the file is 129KB.
The nosearts came along after I had left IL2, so I never was very familiar with the working process there.
