    Merging several paths into one...

    Hello, guys.
After Inkworm was so kind to tell me how, I'm a devoted path user...
I'm eager to know if there's a way to merge 2/3/4... paths into one?
For example, I saved path 1 for basic outline of the plane and 2nd -- for the small nose gun cover.
Is there any way to merge them both into one so that I can have one overall vector mask for the whole profile?
P.S.: Please note there's an overlapping area inside that I don't need in the result path:

Select them all and then up the top there should be a combine button. Just had to check this as I do mine in illustrator. PS is getting quite powerful in the paths department these days I hadn't noticed.

You can also select individual or multiple path components and past them to another path.

I still want to try and convince you to do the paths in Illustrator Then you have the option to truly merge paths if you want to.

Otherwise just create a new vector shape layer and paste everything you want into that and have multiple paths on the same layer, if you want them all selected at the same time but they do not overlap you can in Illy create a compound path which when imported into Photy will retain the compound properties.

Just seen Clint's post, never knew that combine was there, when did they introduce that? Still prefer Illy though!

However in such cases as the one you've highlighted I'd keep the paths separate but on the same layer so they can individually be selected and selections loaded to ease in the shading/highlighting of the profile.

Thanks to everybody! That's how it works: select 1st path with direct path selection tool, copy it, then select the 2nd path & paste 1st into it. Now you have 2 paths in one layer, or, let's say, in one instance together. But you're not done yet. What is more important here is that you switch to path tool "P" and now only U get an options to merge them & so on... My biggest problem was that culprit overlapped area inside... Now I'm fine...

P.S.: sorry to bother you, guys... It's my 2nd day with CS6 so I'm a little bit confused...

I still prefer Illy and am really comfortable using it, even though over the last couple of versions it appears to have turned into an inaccurate crock of crap (yes John you did read that right ). I would switch to something different if I had not invested so much time and effort into learning it like the back of my hand. Adobe sort it out!

I like the fact you can have a separate line file set up in Illustrator at the same scale as your PS work. Which you then do any kind of markings work/placement. Camouflage splinter segments, brush guide paths etc. Can't really beat it for getting in deep and technical with the markings.
