Have you taken a look at the other RAF fonts we have? If they don't have a match, then we can't help you.
We only can host some freeware fonts, you might be able to find shareware fonts elsewhere.
Hi guys,
I am preparing to paint a Spitfire I have made in Blender. I was real happy to find the font named above, but it doesn't give me the proper set of letters except for the letter M.
I am running a Win 7 64 bit Enterprise and GIMP 2.8. The font is from the package that has GIMP in the name.
I attach a set of letter and a clay render of the Spit.
Many thanks if anyone can assist!
Cheers,
Usenetfan

Have you tried lower case? What you've typed out is the upper case set.
It's weird but the upper case letters are the lower case in this font.

FAST AND BULBOUS!
well, now I feel like a complete fool - I never tried lowercase!
Thank you for pointing the dimwit in the right direction. I will post the finished Blender render when I have painted it.
Cheers!
The real dimwit is the guy who set the font up that wayThe only reason I thought to check is that I know the RAF fonts and some others have completely different set-ups.
Glad help![]()

Be that as it may, the font looks real good on the plane. All that remains is to get the UV unwrap properly made and then place the insignia properly.
In the image below, I have not yet attached all the parts I have made, ie. canopy and tailplanes plus ailerons, but I am getting there...
Thanks again!
I find that the fonts can be a little too bold and need thinning, or tweaking in other ways to match the photos which had some degree of variation during application.
Harriers...uppy downy things.
