Another update! Apart from the tailwheel and some smaller bits and bobs, it's pretty much complete now:

Six million polygons later, I think I'm gonna do an abstract aviation painting for therapy next!

Amazing Ronnie! My fav RAF plane!
Holy cow!
Great work so far!
Sadly the Polycount is so high, elsewise it could be used very well in a flight sim!
Thanks a lot!
Soulfreak, the polycount is not a problem as it can be reduced to a level that flightsims can support. For starters the flightsim model is not subdivided twice at rendertime and I have various tools and techniques to take much of the pain out of reducing the polycount. The beauty is that once a lowpoly model is generated, the highpoly model can be used for normal map creation, creating an even smoother realtime model.
Also some parts have excessive detail that's not necessary for flightsims and can be discarded outright and faked in textures instead. Piano hinges for example! Also the quartet of Brownings alone take up half a million tris!
So with a bit of work this is actually a great base for a flightsim model.

Amazing, Ronnie, I think your Mustang was your best but I'm prejudiced. I do not know much about the plywood wonder.
