Pixel location X and Y coordinates?

I am using Photoshop CS 2 version 9. I am trying to mod a P 38 skin to match panel lines rivets etc. Of another P 38 skin I modded that I like. Both are in RGB mode now. Both are the same size 1024 X 1024. If I point to the desired location of the skin I want to replicate the value or location of the pixel from, and then go to the other image/skin, the value of the X and Y location numbers are not even close or displayed in the same numerical pattern, example. on one X of a given point, the front panel corner of the P 38 nose is 9.934 and Y is 3.979. On the other image the approximate same location of the same panel is X 286.500 Y114.600. I notice when I go to image / image size, on P 38 "A" lets say, it shows image size as 1024 by 1024 in pixel dimension. The document size shows width as 14.22 and height as 14.22. Now when I show image/ image size on P 38 "B" Pixel dimension is the same 1024 width and 1024 height. In document size width is 409.6 inches and height is 409.6 inches, vs the 14.22 in the previous. I think this has something to do with it but how do I get these values the same so I can locate the same plot or location on each skin.
    Thanks.

    14.22 in x 14.22 in at 1024p x 1024 p is 72 ppi. 409.6 in x 409.6 in at 1024 p x 1024 p is 2.5 ppi. These "seem" the same but I don't know what effect it has on the X and Y locations. Try setting them to the same perimeters all around. I'd use the 14.22 in x 14.22 in at 1024p x 1024 p, 300 ppi, that's a standard.
But perhaps it's pixel depth? Go to Mode and check how to see if they are both the same bit depth.
Maybe someone here with a head for this sort of stuff will know.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to change the value and it just re sized the image. I just went ahead and used Corel paintshop pro and it worked, all the X and Y coordinates are the same

You'll need to uncheck the "Resample Image" box in the Image Size window. That will do the trick. You'll retain the 1024x1024 @ 300ppi that way. But I guess it's academic now

I will do that, Thanks for the reply. It will save steps as I do most of my skin mods in Photoshop, it saves time switching back and forth fro Corel to Photoshop and back, thanks
