how to make this effect in Photoshop

Dear Folks Hi I am newbie in this forum looking for experts help i don't know it is the right place to post this or not so i apologize if i am posting it in wrong place.

let me start with little intro about me my name is Irfan Khan i live in UAE and started learning Repaints as i am just the beginner so i need little help in making some effects which is related to my favorite hobby Flying.

i am looking to make some shiny rough effect on text as shown in below image how can i make effect like this?




and also how i can create some glossy and shiny effect as shown in below image?



looking forward for experts suggestions in this i really appreciate any kind of help provided in this .

Hi Irfan,

Take a look in the tutorial section, there are some basics on making several effects.
Also look at other flightsims in this section. Often the tricks used are similar to the ones you need.
Even the tutorials on making profiles can be helpful, since all highlights and shades in a profile are painted in a similar way.

Dear Before posting i have seen all the tutorials but i did not find any of such helpful tutorial on this i just need to know what kind of technique has been used in making above effects i am totally nob in this thing any guide will be helpful for me.

i am not that expert but i know Photoshop and how to work with layers you can say basics i know.

Basicly, you draw a line, or a shape following the line of the highlight or shadow.
Then you apply gaussian blur to that shape. You do this on a seperate layer. By making the layer more or less transparent, you make the effect sronger or weaker.

In your example it is a series of lines it seams. And you also see some weathering effects.

Dear can you please do me a favor if you can apply the effects yourself and send me the PSD file will be more helpful as reference i am attaching the fuselage PNG file so you can try and see?

Ummmm...isn't that a 3D reflection map type of thing? Do you have the art for that plane? It might just be plain flat color like what is posted above. At least if it were up to me I'd want that to be a shiny surface property thingy like a reflection map.

@BLOWHARD & @serval thanks for your help but i could not able to sort this out till now if anyone would know exactly and send me PSD files or can explain me in detail step by step would be more helpful.
