work in progress:
In 1955, the F4U-7 S/N 166709 15F. 3 is ready to be catapulted on the aircraft carrier La Fayette.
It still lacks a man in the background.

Hello,
Waou! Thank you James.
This is finished. Has less than ... Perhaps you have suggestions.

This is really lovely work, makes my Sairs look like a pile of dink, but in my defense, they were done 10+ years ago.
For me (even though they rendered really well) I am not a fan of crews and open hatch/bays. Even gear down starts to spoil the clean lines of these slick renders. However, I know you have to cater for all tastes and for some, its eye candy and its all to the good.
But again, very slick work.![]()
Not really Phil.
Personally, I'm not a fan of having panel lines that all have parallel light/dark elements that are exactly the same, for mine you could just about lose most of the lighter elements.
Otherwise I think these are just about perfect, I especially like how you have rendered the painted elements, I've taken note.![]()
Hello,
Thank you for your comments.
I make time to reply to you because I am fighting with the translator and the dictionary.
Jesters-Ink what do you mean by: " makes my Sairs look like a pile of dink".
I did not find the words "Sairs and dink" in my dictionary.
I agree with you James. I have not yet found the way which suits me for the corsair.
This is not the ideal on paper but i think there is worse. I work there.
Phil
amazing!
just one thing with the groundcrew. Compare the sizes of the heads with the pilot's head. They are much larger! Now you could say that the man in front is larger as he is next to the viewer, but then the head in the background should be much smaller! I would do the grondcrew and pilot in the same size.
cheers
